UND Aerospace
Every aviation program offers instruction, but not every program prepares students to make a real impact the way UND does. UND is increasingly regarded as one of the top academic and research institutions in the nation for aviation. They consistently rank among the best for educational quality, affordability, and career outcomes.
The UND Aerospace program was founded in 1968 by John D. Odegard, who was a visionary that nurtured the program from infancy to the mature status it enjoys today with an excellent reputation throughout the aviation world. A book about Odegard and his achievements, "Flight of the Odegard" is a great read for anyone interested in aviation, now out of print, but undoubtedly available on loan at our local libraries.
Today the program has over 110 aircraft in its fleet, mostly based at the Grand Forks International Airport. Our airport often ranks in the top 20 busiest airports in the country due to its extensive pilot training program.
